Pray for Tuesday

I surf a lot of blogs while I am nursing Carli and I stumbled across this blog a while ago. My heart is aching for this family tonite. I am not usually one that asks for prayers - but tonite, I am asking that you send up a prayer for this family and this little girl. Pray for a miracle, and pray for peace and God's will to be done.

My deepest fears were confirmed. Tomorrow we take our precious daughter home. Her cancer doubled in size in less than a week proving once and for all that it is horribly aggressive and no longer chemo sensitive. We have no idea how to do this but we have no doubt we will be cared for every step of the way. This is all I have in me. Please pray for peace for our children, our parents and our siblings. Tuesday, full of grace, you are our so very loved.

Really - I thought I would write more - but I am speechless because I cannot imagine the emotions this family is experiencing. I will hold my Carli close tonite and thank God more fervently for her and I will send up a heartfelt prayer for Tuesday and her parents and siblings.

Thank you...

Carli Rolls Over

Carli has rolled over a few times when she is playing on her tummy - but we are never able to catch it on video. This is Carli rolling over earlier this week, this is the last of three times she did it in one morning! I barely got it on camera. I recorded her for five minutes after she rolled over and she just looked at me like I was crazy and didn't roll over again!

Ready for Summer?

Carli has always had a smile ready for you if you stripped her down to her diaper - so after our blow out diaper today (that somehow missed the onesie completely and covered her pants) - we decided we would put on this cute little number since it was so warm. She was so excited about this outfit - no pants! ha! No bib either! And - this outfit was actually one of mine when I was a baby. Kind of cool, huh? Carli is going to love summer and Grammy is going to hook her up with some outfits like these (Grammy has pretty awesome fabrics picked out already). Anyone else ready for summer?!

Look - we are getting good at tummy time!

We even took a 30 minute nap on our tummy - woke up kind of freaked out and mad b/c we couldn't figure things out - but progress none the less.

I Don't Want to Grow Up...

Carli is back to her normal little self - stubborn. I think that is what she inherited from me. After enjoying having her Daddy home with her on Monday, she was a handful yesterday. She refused to nap, screamed until her little face turned red and pretty much made it impossible for me to do any work what-so-ever. That's okay though - she's a huggable little toot! And in her defense her stomach may have been bothering her b/c I had tried to eat cereal for breakfast hoping that the milk would not affect her and I think it still does.

I have a good video of her and Keith doing "flying baby!" so I will work on uploading it sometime later this week.

Oh - and I think I forgot to mention - Carli weighs 13 lbs! Man has she grown!

This picture is our bedtime hat. I ordered it from this website called www.babysteals.com. It is really neat, but most of the things I don't need or are still too expensive. But this was interesting and was only $10. The thought behind it is that adults sleep better when it is completely dark and babies have that instinct also. So this little hat is suppose to block the light but is made from fabric that is completely breathable in case they pull it down on their mouth or nose. Today for our nap, I tried it on and she quieted down instantly - but she never went to sleep until I pulled it off. I think we will end up using during travels or something like that. It is a cool concept though. Ha - she kind of looks like a bank robber with a stocking hat! :)

And this is what our hair look like when we pull our hat off!

It was naptime and Carli didn't want to nap, she wanted to sit up and look around. So we used her fun caterpillar as a prop and she helped me pick her room up until she finally gave in to naptime!

Well Baby!!

We've had a busy few days - but wanted to put an update out there on our girl. She is doing much, much better - maybe it was just a cold, or maybe she is working on teething. I'm not sure, but she is doing better. Still has a little bit of a runny nose, but we have the coolest snot sucker. I'm telling you - it can get it all!

Anyway - besides the occasional runny nose, Carli is doing much better.

Keith got to stay home today and Carli has thoroughly enjoyed having Daddy around. They worked on tummy time - even rolled over once. But of coarse when I got out the video camera that came to an end. But she did spend some time on her tummy and figured out if she didn't push her tushy in the air, it is easier to hold her head up! :)

Pictures of our girl to come later - 24 is coming on in less than 5 minutes! Got to go!!

Sick Baby

Well - Carli has made it 3.5 months without getting sick, but our streak has ended. Last night she acted like she didn't feel well, but was still playful at bath time and smiled at her Daddy. However, after 4 weeks straight of sleeping through the night, our little girl woke up quite cranky at 2:30 this morning. She was all stuffy and coughing. We did some snot suctioning and changed the diaper, then nursed and she went back to sleep. This morning though it was more of the same and she was pulling on her ear, so off to the doctor we went. The good news is that we don't have an ear infection. The bad news is that she has a cold and is miserable. Poor baby.

Pitiful Baby

Tough morning - taking our nap in the car seat

Our Little Flower

If the cold weather is starting to cause a case of the blues - we thought we'd share a little spring with you...our beautiful little flower!

Carli has adjusted to being back at home - she sure did love getting spoiled by her grandparents, but alas we have returned to our daily lives of floor gyms, jumpers and 3 puppy dogs. She's not complaining, but who wouldn't rather be oh-ed and awe-ed over 24 hrs a day?

Carli's latest thing is talking. She is quite the little talker. She will sit in her little jumperoo and talk and talk to her toys, the T.V. or whatever seems to pass her way. She is also starting to mimic us - while she did this at a mere 1 month of age by sticking her tongue out at Tori - she is doing it even more now. Just yesterday we did a series of "AHHHH" and she would work and work and get an 'ah' out. I think it kind of scared her a little! ha!

Hope that the week has gotten off to a good start for everyone and if not...hopefully our little flower helped brighten your day!

Christmas in West Texas

Two Posts in one day! Don't forget to scroll down to see the picks from our Christmas in East Texas!

On New Years Eve, we ventured up to Amarillo to celebrate Christmas with Pappy, Naggy and Uncle Kevin. Carli Lynn took her first plane ride and she did great! I was so relieved! We spent 5 days in Amarillo and Carli got to meet lots of ppl. They threw her a gift card shower and that was awesome! We are set for a while on diapers! We celebrated Christmas with Naggy, Pappy, Uncle Kevin and Megan. Carli did so well being away from home and her routine for so long. We did get off but I'm not complaining b/c she still sleeps through the night. We had a really good time and I feel so much better about going up to Amarillo via Southwest now. I was not sure Carli would do well flying but she was a pro! And Naggy and Pappy just loved having her there - I think they liked Keith and I being there too - but I'm not sure! :)

Oh and a HUGE thank you to everyone who let us borrow all their baby things so we did not have to haul it all with us. You all are AWESOME!

Christmas in East Texas

As promised...Christmas in East Texas...West Texas Christmas to follow soon.

Christmas day we went to Fairfield to see all of our family from the King side. We had lots of fun and Carli got to meet her cousins Billy and Cindy and their families for the first time. She got lots of books, a baby doll and some toys. Grandma gave her a piggy bank with all sorts of real silver coins in it. It was really neat.

The Friday after Christmas we went with Grammy, Pa, Uncle Andy, Aunt Chelle, Uncle Tone and Cousin Logan to have family pictures made. We had fun - and did pretty good until our extreme blow out diaper threatened to stop the whole show! But we compromised and finished strong - sorry I didn't take pics of that diaper fiasco - but it was funny!

The on Saturday we went down to Alto to celebrate with Grammy, Pa and crew. It was lots of fun - the best part was Logan and his new red chair. Next year we are going to have so much fun with two little ones able to enjoy Christmas. Carli got lots of cute things: a belly time mat, a cute hat from Aunt Chelle, some toys and no clothes (don't worry, Grammy brought us clothes the next week)! ha! We had a good time and enjoyed our family.

We left the following Wednesday to go to Amarillo...more on that hopefully later in the day! Hope you enjoy the pics!

Missing the Camera

Actually - I know where it is - it is in the diaper bag in Alto sitting on the guest bed right where I would remember to bring it home with me...oh well. I'll grab it on Thursday. So, without my camera, it is no fun to tell about the holidays in just words...so how about some more videos?

Carli's new thing is to put both hands behind her head - really cute!

Carli got a Baby Einstein DVD for Christmas - she loves it! She sits in the jumperoo and just talks and talks to the TV.
