Bed Runners for Littles

Drew and Maggie got their awesome bed runners from Mrs. Munday today! There's a bit of a story behind the why of these. First, when Carli turned three she and Ava got these awesome quilts from Naggy. They've used them ever since! So when we found out Maggie was on her way and at least for a bit she and Drew would share a room I went on the search for some coordinating quilts. I found these on zulily and loved the colors but wanted to personalize them. Anyone who knew my Grandma knew that she made all her grandkids a blue jean quilt. So it was that Grammy and I thought it would be a cool reminder of the Grandma my two youngest hear lots about but never were blessed to meet if we did blue jean quilt bed runners for their quilts. Mrs. Munday did an amazing job and Drew is so happy that now his bed knows it belongs to him. 😂

Lost book

For a whole week, we have looked for a lost library book.  In her bed, in the car...all the cars.  Emptied her backpack, tore up our bookcases, and play room to no avail.  Ava was devastated so we were prepared to buy the book to replace it for the school and then Ava sat on it in the car.  Literally.  I can't make this stuff up.

Bubbles!

When Mom really just needs to get ready for the day without all her help on the counter giving her directions, we break out the bubbles!

We Got Hit

If there was any doubt that Maggie had a virus, it was extinguished on Friday when I woke up sick...it wasn't long after that Drew got hit.  Keith was a champion dealing with a sick Drew and a busy little Maggie all day.  Thankfully, I was only down for the day b/c Saturday came and Keith and Ava were down for the count...Carli wasn't far behind.  So, lots of laundry and cleaning was on the books for the whole weekend.  Keith and Ava were hit the hardest but by Sunday afternoon we seemed to all be staggering back on our feet.  Man, I hate viruses.  :(

Softball Friends

Carli was beyond excited that her friend, Kate, came to try out for Synergy today!  Making new friends is fun but it's a little easier when you have a good friend by your side to help you out!  :)

Monkey on the Bed

Whoever said any kid after the third is easy, wasn't counting Maggie.  Tuesday morning Maggie somehow rolled off the bed. At first we thought she crawled off but after watching her close all morning, she didn't show any signs of a head injury but was oh so mad and cranky. And then I laid her down to change her diaper and she screamed bloody murder. 😢 Something was wrong with her left hip. She was good as long as I held her straddling my stomach but refused to bear weight on it or crawl. So, off to the doctor we went, where they all commented on her cuteness then experience her temper and how loud she can actually scream. They x-rayed her knee, I'm not sure why they focused there but after 15 minutes of screaming and fighting she suddenly stopped. I think looking back she popped her hip back or something bc she never cried after that point. Xray was clean and we went to the chiro and he gave her a good working over. She's acted fine ever since. Laughing, crawling, and eating. I've got a few more gray hairs...

Then, not one to be out done Maggie decided to celebrate turning 13 mths old with the following firsts:

- First Hays kid to fall off the bed and likely popped her hip out which led to...

- First Hays kid to get an x ray on her leg.

- Took 13 mths, but had her first night of vomiting half the night away, which means bc she knocked her head the day before she became the...

- First Hays kid to get a CT Scan

- As well as the first Hays kid to get a flu test this year.

Thankfully the scan was clear and test was negative...which means...

Maggie is officially the first Hays kid to get a stomach virus this year...she's outdone herself.

She's a cute one!

Who's Breakfast is it Anyway?!

It's not unusual for me to have to eat breakfast in the car on the way to church between fixing hair, picking out outfits, fixing breakfasts for everyone and the inevitable she looked at me squabbles not to mention throwing lunch in the crockpot before heading out the door...so when I had an extra 10 min this morning to actually sit down to eat breakfast I did.

Only I didn't get to eat it all bc this little breakfast thief stood beside my chair the whole time...Are you done yet? Is that my bite? Can I have one too? I'm gonna need more jelly.

Dude...not your breakfast, yet he still ate more of it than I did. 🤷‍

Finally some Help!

Maggie LOVES her pink car, even if it is 8 years old and a wee bit dusty.  But what Maggie loves we must take with us to softball practice b/c if it keeps her busy it is totally worth it!  And to top it off, what a pleasant surprise to have my sweet little man push her to the batting cages.  Granted it took us 10 minutes to get there b/c he has a tendency to meander but beggars can't be choosers!  :)

Valentine's Gifts

So last yr I posted words of affirmation from Keith, grandparents, aunts, uncles and teachers all over the girls room for Valentines Day. They are actually all still there. This yr, I thought Keith and I could use the affirmation from our kids...so I bought them shirts. It worked. My day is significantly brightened! 😁

Bundt Cake Sales

It was time for another fundraiser and this time the girls wanted to do bundt cakes again.  They set a goal for 40 sets and surpassed that goal by 2 sets!  I like the bundt cake fundraisers b/c the girls actually do the majority of the cooking.  They mix up each cake and flavor, I help them pour it in the pan and get in and out of the oven.  They make the icing and did all the decorating this time around!  We are thankful for all the support our friends and family gives to the girls!

Student of the Month - Ava Bo

This ray of sunshine got Student of Month! She's having so much fun this yr in 3rd Grade. She says recess is still her favorite subject. 🤣 And mostly the rest of the day she likes her teachers and friends and mostly just does her school work bc she has too. Ha! One thing is for sure, she brightens every room she walks into and still has the most contagious, joyful laugh you've ever heard!

Full of Personality!

Being the youngest and the fourth, Maggie out does herself sometimes making sure she is just as loud and demanding and obviously cute as all of her siblings!!  And she loves to climb.  She's gonna give me a heart attack one day!

Drew can't hardly not love on Maggie every chance he gets!  And did I mention she loves to climb?  Like her hat?  It wasn't long after that picture that she figured out she could fold up that stool and smash her fingers.

Maggie's favorite place to sit is underneath the end table.  :)  And while she has gotten use to wearing bows sometimes, she uses it as a sleep maske very now and then!
