Dionna's Wedding

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we had another wedding. Dionna and Ron got married at this really neat place out near Conroe. It was a wedding that was held at dusk, and when they kissed fireworks went off! Pretty neat.

This was the first time that I went somewhere and forgot to charge my camera - so all my pictures are pretty much before the ceremony.

I promise a milli second before I took this picture they were starring right at me grinning! ARGH!!

At least they both looked in the same direction!

My one and only picture of the couple!

Uncle Tone - decorating the car

Uncle Andy putting on some finishing touches

And I may have helped a little...

The wedding was beautiful and it was good to see all our family since it was an "off" year on Thanksgiving and we wouldn't see some of them until Thanksgiving.

Congrats Dionna and Ron!

Ava Come Sit With Me!

Carli loves to have Ava come sit with her and watch Minnie Mouse. I had forgotten that we had taken this video until I had to clean off the camera so it could be used at Dionna's wedding this weekend.

Baby Food Anyone?

I had a stinkin' stressful week last week and when I get stressed, frustrated, upset - I want to bake. I usually end up with cookies and they are so good! But last week, I decided to put the negative energy to work and make Ava some baby food. I had made all of Carli's baby food but that was a bit easier since there was only one little baby - with two it is not so easy. Plus, Carli didn't really start baby food until she was close to 8 months old...Ava LOVES to eat the stuff and she just now turned 6 months old!

I made a pretty good showing for the first round and was pleased that my frustrations got put to good use. I was also very thankful for my wonderful neighbors who let me use their blender since mine died on me. I realized it was dead, after half the stuff was ready to blend! Oops. So Ava is hooked up with some pears, peaches, watermelon, corn, carrots and Carli got some applesauce. Not too shabby!

Grandma's Lap

Carli has been staying with Grandma in the afternoons on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the past couple of weeks. She informed me last week, she would be staying with Grandma and told me to go to work. This made Grandma's day! The two of them had such a grand time, Carli didn't take a nap and played and played and played. Word is that Grandma slept good those nights! ha! But Thursday, Momma worked a little longer than normal and when Ava and I showed up this is what we found...

Turns out, Grandma is still the only one that Carli will voluntarily crawl up in her lap and take a nap! She hasn't done this for anyone else is quite awhile! She took a really good nap too - it lasted two hours! Yep, Grandma's lap is one good napping spot!

A Cowgirl at Heart

I was raised around cows, some horses and lots of chickens. I raised rabbits for 4-H, wore the boots and button down shirts to livestock shows and did my fair share of gardening. I was raised in the country and loved it. I never was really comfortable on a horse though...I think that may have rubbed off on Carli.

Seems she is far more comfortable on a sheep!

Aren't Grandparent's Grand?!

Turns out November is a month of birthday's for some pretty special people in our lives!

Pappy celebrated his birthday yesterday - and we didn't even get to Skype. :( Such is life with a toddler and baby. Both were ready for bed by 7 and we don't mess with tired babies! So poor Pappy had to suffice with a call from two boring grown ups with a promise to Skype with his two favorite girls later.

Happy Birthday Pappy! We Love You Very Very MUCH!

November 11 is our Grandma's birthday. Grandma is so very special to our family. She and Carli have so much fun together - and Ava is getting to where she interacts more and more each time we go visit. The best is walking into Grandma's house and hearing, "How are Grandma's Darlin's?!" The girls probably think she is talking about them, but we all know she is talking to me! ha!

Happy Birthday Grandma!
We are so very blessed to have such a wonderful, beautiful child of God to love on!

Did you think that was all? Nope! Turns out our Aunt Betty had a birthday on November 10th also! She shares the exact same birthday with Pappy! Small world, huh? We are so very fortunate to have such a great extended family and wanted to make sure Aunt Betty knew we wished her a Happy Birthday too!

A Flower Girl, An Uncle and Lots of Fun!

Uncle Kevin married our new Aunt Megan on Saturday in the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth. Carli was the flower girl and though I was not sure if we could convince her to put on her dress, much less walk down alone in front of a crowd of ppl, she proved me wrong and dazzled us all - kind of! :) The dress took a team effort from Naggy and the Maid of Honor, but they got it on her and all was well after Carli had the dress on. Our saving grace for Carli to walk down the "aisle" was that the sun was in her face and she couldn't really see all the people. She ended up holding on the the preacher's wife's hand for the first little bit, and then she saw me, and came over and held my hand for a bit and then she saw Naggy and went the rest of the way alone. She was cute - and really, you can't go wrong with a cute flower girl!

Ava did awesome this weekend also. While she is fondly considered a Momma's girl, she was quite the little socialite. She met lots of family for the first time and got to hang out with new friends...all with out screaming at anyone!

Here we go! Carli was trying to figure out what exactly all these crazy adults wanted her to do!

Ava cuddling with Aunt Carolyn. They just met and hit it off really well!

Naggy bought Carli's baby a new dress for the big occasion.

The Happy Couple

Sweet kisses from our sweet girl.

Ava and her new buddies, Robin and Ginny. She pretty much stayed with them during the whole rehearsal...

Carli came by to hold Ava's hand for a bit.

Carli stealing some cookies for her cousin, Bella, and herself of coarse. She loved taking one bite and trying to go back for another.

We got Uncle Kevin married off in a beautiful ceremony and had a relaxing weekend to top it all off! I was quite relieved that Carli was cooperative and that Ava was social.

Next...Cousin Dionna gets married on Nov 20!

My Beautiful Girls

Uncle Kevin got married this weekend in the Botanical Gardens. I have tons of pictures - but as pretty as the garden was, it didn't compare to the beauty of my girls! :)

More pictures from the wedding soon!

Backyard Fun

Last Friday the weather was perfect for playing outside, so after the girls naps we took full advantage of our wonderful backyard!!

One of Ava's new toys is a Johnny Jump-Up. Pa suggested getting one after seeing how our overhang was on the back porch. Turns out, it works really well and Ava loves her new "freedom!"

Carli is learning to blow bubbles. We spent a good 10 minutes blowing bubbles for Ava and the puppy dogs. Carli really thought the puppy dogs were having a grand time!

After weeks of ignoring her climber, Carli finally decided it was actually a pretty fun toy again!

And of coarse, the highlight of playing outside is getting to jump off the retaining wall! No toy, no gadget, no climber - has ever entertained Carli more than jumping and walking on the retaining wall!

Never a Doubt

Keith and Ava have, in Keith's opinion, had a hard time bonding. I never thought that. I think that the situation was different and given that Carli was around to keep Keith occupied, it was what it was. And, Ava's tendency to be a Momma's girl sometimes didn't help much. But Saturday I was determined to shampoo all our carpets and Keith in turn made it his mission to entertain the girls. He did a really good job - at one point, I took a break and went to go check on them and this is what I found...Ava was sound asleep on her Daddy's chest.

And then later one, after Carli was down for her nap and I was finishing our bedroom up - I went in the living room to find this...

Yeah, I am pretty sure Ava thinks her Daddy is one awesome fellow...and a pretty good Nap Nanny apparently!
