Easter Egg Hunt 2011
The picture taking done, lunch eaten and it was time to hunt some Easter eggs. They were a little excited to say the least!
We had an awesome time at the lake for our Easter lunch and egg hunt. The whole weekend went by so fast and wore us all out!
Life keeps going - Ava's party is in less than two weeks! Wow, where does the time go?
Watching Daddy and Uncle Andy hide eggs
And Go! Carli had an absolute blast finding all her eggs!
Carli and Logan going through their eggs. Carli found a bouncy ball in an egg - she was excited!

Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday we went to church in Jacksonville with Grammy, Pa, Uncle Andy, Aunt Chelle, Logan, Grandma and Uncle Danny. We actually had an extra ten minutes on Sunday morning so we attempted to get pictures of the girls in the their Easter dresses. Sassy had given the girls their bows to go with their Easter dresses.
We tried to get Carli to stand with Ava, but she was not interested. We did get her to sit on the bench with Ava and we got a couple of usable pictures.
Ava's dress came with a little hat too - so I took a couple of pictures with her hat on. She decided to demonstrate her ability to stand by herself.
We moved to the front yard and attempted to get a group shot with Momma and Daddy but Carli had discovered my phone had a camera. And from there it just went downhill...
After church we all went out to the lakehouse for lunch and an Easter egg hunt. We tried one final time for some group pictures.
This is Grammy's new little tree, so maybe every year we will take their picture here to see how much they and the tree have grown! We use to do this with the pecan tree at Mom and Dad's house.
The kids were relieved when picture taking was over so they could change and get on with the fun part...hunting eggs!!
This is Ava's "shy" face

King/Bennet Family Reunion 2011
Are you ready for some pictures? I'm pretty sure I took over 200 pictures this past weekend, but have no fear - I'll divide it up in three separate posts! :) I can't help it - my kids are just too cute!
Our Easter weekend started off on Saturday with a family reunion in Alto. We had it in an old school building which was pretty cool, but the lack of air conditioning was not so cool! ha! The heat did not seem to bother the kids at all and they all had a blast!
They played non stop but they did have a sixth sense about when it was time to start the Easter egg hunt...they were so patient!
This year, Carli got it. Last year, she hunted the eggs and had fun but I think this year she actually got that she needed to find some eggs!
This was Ava's first ever experience with the Easter egg hunt and she thought they made great teething toys!
And this would not have been a successful day without attempting to get a picture of the girls together...
A little history here - as far back as I can remember, our family has ALWAYS had a money egg. My most vivid memory was my MeMaw usually knew where the money egg was and if she decided things were taking too long, she'd pick a great-grandkid and tell them where to look...I don't remember how old I was when I got "picked" but that year, the money egg was in MeMaw's purse! :) It was the best Easter ever!
So, every since then, when the whole big family gets together everyone puts some money in the money egg and one person is designated to hide it and they and only they know where it is...
Two years ago, on Carli's first Easter, she and her Daddy found the money egg. And this year, they kept the tradition going when Carli found the money egg (almost all by herself) in the tail pipe of a truck.
And finally - my fill in picture taker wasn't too familiar with my camera - but it wouldn't be a family reunion without a family picture! :)

Notice Ava's toes in this picture - she pulled up alone, we were merely attempting to prevent the inevitable fall! :)
Uncle Andy had great fun with the girls all weekend. He picked on Carli, asking her every chance he got if he could bring "his Ava" home with him. At the end of the weekend, they had reached an agreement that Uncle Andy could bring "My (Carli's) Ava" home with her and Uncle Andy could come too - and bring Logan of coarse!Uncle Andy gave his hand at trying to get Ava to walk...

...don't you think it went well?
About the time Carli decided she was done, someone announced the money egg had not been found. A little history here - as far back as I can remember, our family has ALWAYS had a money egg. Our Little Fearless Ava
Ava is by far much more daring than Carli was. Carli was content to learn to walk, and get into things every now and then, but I never worried with leaving her in a room while I switched laundry, or letting her play in the kitchen while I cooked dinner. With little Ava, those are big no-nos! She is one busy little beaver. She has never stopped moving since the day she was born. Literally, she moves constantly in her sleep! :)
So last Wednesday when we were playing outside, it was no surprise when she thought going down the slide by herself was great fun! And attempting to climb up the fort with help is a huge hit...
At one point I was helping Carli with the bubbles and glanced over to see this...doesn't she look so innocent?
I had to snap a quick picture before getting her down and bringing her back over to the bubble blowing - but Ava is not easily discouraged. She went right back, and her Daddy went over to supervise...he's very encouraging!

Carli's First Braid
I'm still learning how to fix little girls hair - but like her first little pony tail and her first pig tail, I had to attempt to document Carli's first braid! I never really learned to braid hair, just little friendship bracelets, etc, so I was pretty proud of how her little braids turned out! Especially since I was able to fix them on a squirming little 2 year old! :)
Picture Attempt #1: A true smile, I can't complain!
Picture Attempt #2: She Moved, so I'm pretty sure you can't see the braid!
Picture Attempt #4: Couldn't resist the smile!
Picture Attempt #5: I gave up on getting her face, and just got a picture of her head! :) You can at least see the braids now! ha!
