I watch this website BabySteals and KidSteals and have had good luck finding some pretty neat and useful things. A couple of weeks ago they had these peddleless bikes for toddlers featured. They were made by Boot Scoot Bike and the thinking behind them is to teach kids how to balance without having to worry about peddling. Was a good thought for $100, but they were half off on the KidSteals site so Keith and I decided maybe we should give it a try for Carli.
The other thing I like about the steals sites is that they ship crazy fast and we got the new bike within four days. Keith immediately put it together, and off we went outside to give it a try!
Carli patiently waiting for Keith to adjust her seat.
A test drive on the nice soft grass.
The grass was too easy so off to the street we went. Ava decided she needed to help Carli balance. Carli was pretty good sport to let Ava "help" her!
Carli really enjoyed her new little bike on her first outing. It was kind of nice to not have to deal with lots of falls or major frustrations! Now if we could just get Ava to understand that her little legs are just a bit too short to ride Carli's bike!
While we were outside, Carli found the remains of a bird egg. In her own words, "Look Momma, a baby bird just hopped right out of this egg! See?!" The scientist in Grammy would be proud! :)
