New Hat

Drew's not much for hats, but while he has hair it is pretty blonde.  So as we got ready to go to a softball tournament this wkd, we thought it'd be worth the effort to try to get him to wear a hat!

While he looked pretty stinkin' cute, it wasn't enough to convince him to keep it on for the day!

Waking Up

The pros of taking naps...is well, naps!  But the cons means we have to wake up and that's pretty rough on a little fellow and his quack, quack...

But then some days, that nap really pays off and we wake up in a pretty goofy mood!  :)  I prefer the goofy mood wake up days!

Weekend Recovery!

When you spend the weekend at the ballfield and keep missing your necessary naps....you take a nap at 9:30 on Monday morning!

And insist on taking your "Quack, Quack" to the grocery store for company afterward!

Opening Day & First Tournament

This weekend was opening day for softball!  It was Ava's opening day at league ball and her team Troup Thunder.  Carli was in her first tournament of the season in Lufkin.  Man, look how much my babies have grown since their first ball season!

First, we had opening day in Troup.  It was a little wet and cold.  Ava's team is Troup Thunder, they are the little team to the 12u Troup Thunder team.  Here's a cute picture with all the Thunder girls!

Technically, this was just a scrimmage against the other Troup Tball team, the Glitter Hitters.  Have played pitcher and did really well!  She smoked a few balls too!  :)

After Ava had an amazing game, it was off to Lufkin where Carli was with Grammy and Pa playing in her first tournament of the year.  She had a great tournament.  She caught more than one ball in the outfield, even throwing a few out at the bases b/c they didn't expect her to get the ball there that fast!  She had a great tournament at the plate too!  It was a great way to start the season!

This was also Jenna's first tournament with the Sassy Sluggers!  She did great too!  We are glad to have another Troup girl playing with Carli this year.  :)

Virus Number 9,489

Have I mentioned how exhausting it is to have a toddler who cannot tell you what's wrong get a stomach virus.  Bless him, he just projectiles and cannot stop for up to two hours.  We love Zofran.  We are tired.

Have I mentioned how much we love Zofran?  Drew got sick on Wednesday after he had a great day at Mawmaw's and took a great nap.  After surviving the initial round of vomiting, we got him to keep Zofran down and he was okay with life again.  He had great fun pushing around his dump truck in the doll stroller!

We sent the girls to stay with Grammy Thursday night and I lolled the heck out of everything trying to make sure no one else got sick.  Drew meanwhile thoroughly enjoyed the one on one constant attention!

I thought we had actually beat this virus but on day 8 at 11 pm the following Wednesday while Keith was out of town, Drew threw up again and it was bad.  I was traumatized to say the least.  I pulled an all nighter and Grammy came to rescue me the next day.  After talking with the doctor they think he has a weak gag reflex so when he has a lot of drainage, he may tend to vomit more.  Great.  I guess it's better than a stomach virus...I'm tired.

Just Waiting

Sometimes Stryker really misses his little people, so he waits patiently for them to come home from school in one of their favorite places to play!

Family Reunion 2017

Despite Drew not feeling 100%, we had a great time at the annual King Family reunion.  It was a smaller crowd but that just means it was more intimate and we were able to visit with everyone!

Uncle Danny presented an awesome slideshow about Pawpaw's older brother James King.  It was really neat to learn about who he was through the old letters he wrote while he was serving.  He died overseas during WWII.

The kids had a great Easter egg hunt - this year I think I managed to NOT bring home as many eggs as we took.  There's a blessing! ha!

Top Row:  Carli, Weston, Emily, Ava and Eady
Bottom Row:  Drew and Logan holding Colton

On your mark...

Drew filled his basket up...then dumped it all out.

Carli found the money egg this year!

After the regular egg hunt was done, it was time for confetti eggs!  I think the kids had more fun chasing Pa then they did chasing eachother!  Thankfully Pa was a good sport!

Drew even managed to break a confetti egg on Pa!

Drew worked really hard at getting all the confetti off his daddy!

Then while everyone else visited, Drew popped bubbles in the air conditioning.

And before we went home, Drew passed back down some of his toys he had outgrown to Colton.  Funny, he got more use out of this walker pushing Colton around than he did when he was small enough to fit in it!
