Our little Diamond Diva team played against the Rusk Pink Sox and came away with a win. The best part of playing this team is their sportsmanship. It's really hard as a parent to not let your competitive spirit shine through and we've seen that more than once on both sides of the field. This game was great b/c while our little team got ahead quite a bit, the coaches agreed to switch things up and let our girls do more "practice" on the field while their girls got to "practice" more in hitting. Basically, we forced our girls to throw the ball and not run down the outs. It was a good evening for a little tball and it was great to see coaches not lose their perspective of why we were all there!
Carli is really getting into the game. She loves to hit and tries her best to understand why she is doing what!
And most importantly...she has fun!
Ava is doing AMAZING for being the youngest on the team. She plays catcher most of the time and she finally asked coach why the umpire always catches the ball and never lets her. So coach made sure the ump allowed Ava to catch each ball that was thrown into home after time was called. :)
Carli really enjoyed this game b/c the other girls actually threw the ball to her at first base. She did a really good job of stopping the ball. On the few times that she did miss the ball, have no worries her little sister was there to back her up for the last half of the game! :)
Game over and the Diamond Diva's won!
Besides having Grammy & Pa come to watch them play, Uncle Tone & Aunt Lolli were there too!
And when the girls realized Ms. Patty & Kayla came too, their day was made!
