A Very Special Kayla Day

In January 2012 our family was very blessed to welcome Ms. Kayla Mascorro into our home to help watch the girls so that I could work a little during the day instead of pulling late nights to get it done.  She is such a blessing to our family.  When we think of Kayla, we don't think of her as a babysitter but as a member of our family.  She loves our girls unconditionally.  We could not have asked for more from her when it comes to watching our girls.  She is wonderful.

Today is our last Kayla day.  I don't think the girls really like college b/c they think college is taking their Kayla away.  They say that your children grow up fast, to cherish every moment...go figure that applies to more than just children.  Everyone grows and life changes.  Kayla has to go back to school...the girls are starting preschool three days a week in September.  And a new phase of life starts.  We'd keep Kayla forever if we could.  I guess we will have to be content with cards, facebook and at least a Kayla date every now and then.  And maybe the secret hope that one day Kayla will be in our school district and the girls get to be in her class.  :)

But first, we have one more Kayla day and we plan to make the most of it.  We have worked hard for the past couple of weeks.  We have planned, we have crafted...we thought about baking and coped out and made other plans, there may even be some ice cream, songs and treasure hunts...and the girls are super excited about the Kayla day party.  Today will be fun, all three girls will have lots of laughs, make more memories and there may be a happy/sad tear or two.  But there will be smiles and the knowledge that we aren't saying good-bye at all.  We are saying thank you to an amazing person who has invested so much in our children and we know without a doubt we are all blessed and a better family because of her.

We love you Kayla!

P.S. You might want to keep checking the blog today...the treasure hunt clues and finds will be posted often!  :)
