Carli can officially ride her bike with no training wheels. On Christmas morning 2012, Santa brought Carli a very nice Schiwnn bicycle but he thought she was a lot bigger than she was and it has been sitting in our garage ever since. We found a couple of smaller bikes at garage sales that spring and that is what the girls have been riding for the past year and a half.
Carli declared in April that she was big enough to ride her "Christmas Bike" and so Keith took the training wheels off the smallest of the bikes and put them on the big bike. So Carli got a bigger bike and Ava moved up on the middle size bike. Only, Carli didn't hope on her "Christmas Bike" she decided she could ride the small bike without any training wheels. And she did...just like that. Made up her mind she could do it and it was done. If only we could get that little mind of her's to decide to do more things...like floating on the water in swimming!
After about two weeks of riding the little bike with no training wheels, she worked up the courage to ride her "Christmas Bike" without the training wheels as well. She pretty much mastered it and then we sold our house and moved. We are at the lake for five weeks and there isn't a good spot to ride bikes. Let's hope the old saying, "once you learn to ride a bike, you never forget."
