A Laid Back Halloween

This year we didn't do much for Halloween.  We've never really gone trick or treating in a neighborhood but usually get around to going to a fall festival or trick or treat on the square in Rusk.  The girls really wanted to be a cat and catwoman but they failed to inform me of this until the week of Halloween and I just could not do it.  And honestly, spending time and money to buy one off the rack just really wasn't at the top of my list!

Carli and Ava were really good sports.  I got them after school on Friday and took them on a surprise trip to get a flu shot and Drew's 4 mth check up.  Then we changed in the doctor's exam room.  Ava opted to be a butterfly over joining in the M&M trend, Drew was a red M&M and Carli a green M&M.  All dressed up we headed to Trane to do a little candy begging!

They had their offices all decorated and even had some refreshments the kids could snack on.  Drew was still pretty mad about having to have shots, so he was having none of the festivities.  I didn't even get a picture of him!  :(

Sunday morning we had one more Halloween outfit to dress up in.  I didn't even have to bribe Carli this time...it helped that it was not a dress!  :)

Maybe next year we will actually get the kids dressed up and at least go to the square.  But honestly, I'm not missing all that candy in my house!  ha!  :)
