Sunday Naps

Maggie still nurses but I am trying hard to cut back.  One of the habits we had to break was our Sunday morning naps during the sermon.  It was perfect timing to go to the cry room, let Maggie nurse/nap and I got to sit and listen to the sermon.  But it was a habit we had to break.  So the last few weeks Keith has taken Maggie out when she got restless and was demanding to nurse and in less than five minutes he'd have her asleep.  Well, when Daddy wasn't there on Sunday morning, Uncle Tone stepped up.  Maggie may have screamed a little louder but turns out Uncle Tone is persistant and he had her asleep in 10 minutes.  So thankful!  So when Sunday night came and Daddy was back, Maggie had to catch up on her Sunday naps with Daddy.  :)

Champions X2

It was another softball weekend only this time we were split up.  Carli and Synergy played in Athens.  Ava and the Naturals were in Jacksonville.  Thankfully, Grammy and Pa took the two littles as it was suppose to be one really hot day!  Although Grammy, Drew and Maggie all love to be outside, so it's not like they avoided the heat all day but they did have easier access to the AC.

Ava and the Naturals played in the Jacksonville Tomato Fest tournament.  They played 5 amazing games, demolishing the other teams.  Ava had Pa stop by to watch a game.  Mrs. Hultberg got to stop by for a game too!  Even Coach Jeff showed up to cat-call the Naturals pitcher (Keith) and show his support!  The Naturals won by a landslide and brought home the gold ring!

Carli and Synergy played 4 games on Saturday and one on Sunday before they got rained out.  Carli pitched the first day and did very well!  The most exciting part of the tournament was in the last game on Sunday when her team was tied up in extra innings.  The winning run was on third with one out and Carli came up to bat.  Her coach called a squeeze bunt and first pitch Carli laid down the perfect bunt down the first base line and got the winning run in!  Keith had gone with her on Sunday and I may have whooped a bit loud while watching on Gamechanger in the restaurant!  :)

Carli and I got to spend Saturday together and even spent a couple hours chilling in the AC with Ms. Patty.  It was a good weekend for everyone and we are so thankful for our tribe who proves over and over how blessed we are!

Turkey Creek Beach

I'm not sure who is having more fun this summer, the kids or Grammy & Pa!  The kids love to ride the gator and take turns driving.  Even Drew will take a turn, in the open pasture.  They went to Turkey Creek that has a nice sand little beach and clear water the other day.  Maggie was totally into the water and the girls enjoyed finding treasures.  Drew just wanted to play in sand!

First Sewing Class

Our neighbor up the hill has a quilting shop and man it is awesome!  She recently quit doing formal quilting classes but I asked if she'd be willing to teach the girls some of the basics of sewing.  Grammy and Naggy have tried but there's just something about being taught by someone else.  My hope is that they learn the basics so then Grammy and Naggy can teach them how to follow patterns, etc.  Their first lesson went great!  They ate it all up.  Poor Carli asked me if I knew what an iron was...oh dear.  Yep, I rarely use one.  Ha!  I'm excited to see what all they learn and so grateful for Mrs. Munday for being willing to teach them!

Playground Fun

We've gotten to spend a little more time at various playgrounds this summer while sisters are visiting with Mrs. Ana.  We've discovered that Maggie is fearless and Drew is not!  Ha!

And on the days when it was too wet to play on the playground, we would venture to the mall for a small treat...because their mother really doesn't like the mall!

Cool Kids

If my kids tell you how awesome their day was because they actually went to the mall and into one store and bought something, don't think they're crazy. Their mother hates to shop and Drew seriously thought the purpose of the mall was to house Great American Cookie...

We needed to kill a couple of hours between appointments and it was raining.  So we decided to check out the new toddler play area at the Mall.  In exchange for playing in the "baby" playground, I agreed to let the girls buy one outfit from one store.  So they were happy and Drew opted to spend his money on sunglasses.  :)  We even managed a round of miniture golf before we left.

A Full Day at the Ballpark

One day Softball Tournaments are awesome...unless you have both girls playing and you literally are there from 7:15 am to 12:30 am that night!  Actually, it wasn't bad but just insanely long!  We were literally watching games all day long.  Between Carli and Ava, 12 games were played!  Both girls took home 3rd place.

Carli did not get to pitch.  Not sure what that's about but what I'm most proud of her for is that she didn't let it get to her.  She caught two fly balls in the left field and hit a stand up double.  Plus her body lanugage and attitude were awesome which is a huge deal for her!

Ava team played 7 games!  In game 5, she slid into third and got stepped on.  She's got a nice big nasty skinned knee with a bruise to top it off.  She managed to get through it and play games 6 and 7 like a hoss.  Her team played in two games that went to extra innings.  Ava played third and made some really good stops and outs.  She hit very well too!  Keith got nominated to pitch for their team so he's just as worn out as Ava is!  Ha!

My littles were AMAZING!  Grammy and Pa stopped by for a couple of hours and Grammy saved my sanity by taking the littles and successfully getting Maggie to take a nap which I think probably helped us survive the whole day!  They played in the dirt, made new friends and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  By the time it hit 10 pm though, they were about done.  Drew gave up and fell asleep on the ground.  Maggie actually got a little giggly b/c she was so tired!  But we all survived, and best of all I remembered to reapply sunscreen at least 5 times through out the day so no one had a sunburn!  Whoop!
