Annual King Family Reunion

This year's King Family Reunion was a little smaller this year and was held amidst some crazy weather!  While we were visiting and catching up inside, torandos were springing up all over East Texas!  Three of them hit Alto and caused some major damage.  We literally watched the last tornado disappear up into the sky as the storm passed over us.  Nothing says family like weathering out tornados in a hundred year old school house!

Tie Dye Cake

We had signed up to bring food to a family with a new baby this week.  They already have three little girls and Carli wanted to make the girls a very special cake!  So after much research and debate, she gave a tie dye cake a try!  I wish we could have seen what it looked like when it was cut into!  By all accounts, it tasted very good!

New Dog Kennel

We had a vision for a dog kennel under a bench for a couple of years now and we finally bit the bullet and had it made!  There's lots of room for the little dogs and well, kids now apparently!  Can't wait to see the table that's going to go along with it!

Naps at Grammy's

Only at Grammy's will Maggie lay down without being held and actually nap for a decent length of time!  Must be that Grammy magic!

Good Big Sisters

Their days are made when I let them put Maggie to sleep or when she's fought a nap so hard she simply can't stay awake any longer!

It's been a challenging two weeks, but when Mrs Hultberg sends me a picture mid day of this care free, precious girl of mine...I can't help but smile and be grateful.

Ava's Perfect Hairstyle

Ava found a hairstyle that fits her to a T...starts off all nice and neat then chaos everywhere! 🤣

Happy Birthday Pa!

If I could give you one gift, I would give you the ability to see you from my eyes and from the eyes of your grandchildren because then you would know that to us you are more than my dad and their Pa...you are a loving and kind, selfless, reliable, Godly, intelligent, a protector, and our hero. You are strong, you believe in us, you are always there even when we fail. You give us joy, you help us learn and you make us feel safe. And though you are not perfect, it just makes us love you even more. My birthday wish for you, is that you know 100% without doubt that you are loved more than words can say. Happy Birthday Dad!

Pappy's Job

Synergy First Tournament

Those smiles make my heart happy!

Carli played in her first tournament with Synergy this weekend.  We actually played with three pick up players so mostly our aim was to shake the rust off and get the nerves out.  We weren't really expecting to win.  But man we sure came close!  After only getting to play one game on Saturday due to the rain, we played two games on Sunday.  Carli started pitching both Sunday games.  She had awesome first innings with 3 up and 3 down but then had some rough second innings.  After talking to her later, she had convinced herself the larger 4th batters were going to hit line drives back at her and she'd be hit.  I'm not sure how that fear came up all the sudden.  So she was pitching to the outside and ended up walking 5 each game, each 2nd inning.  They lost one game only 2 to 3 and the second game by more.  But her coach, I'm loving how he handles her.  He talked to her, he went out on the mound and calmed her and made her smile.  She is still working on getting to know and trust him too.  So while we didn't win this weekend, we did grow a lot.  This is a journey we've been trying to accomplish for some time and I am hopeful we are finally on the right road.

A bonus was that Carli got to see her friend Ashlyn who she played with her first season on Glory.  It was the first time she had seen her in almost a year.

24 Hr Challenge

Apparently on YouTube there are several videos about doing a 24 hr challenge.  Where basically you stay in one spot for 24 hrs only taking small breaks for the bathroom.  Carli decided she and her friends wanted to do this in our laundry room which I vetoed and moved them to the playroom.  Carli had two friends, Molleigh and Reagan over.  And Ava had her friend Elaine over.  It was a wee bit loud Friday night and they weren't very good at staying in the playroom but they had fun!

By the time morning rolled around, exceptions were being made left and right!  They came out to make pizza, then paint and by noon they declared the challenge over!  Ha!

Sleepovers are loud and exhausting for this Momma but the girls all had fun so it was worth it!
