Rainforest Cafe & Legoland

After the ice starting melting outside, we ventured out one afternoon a couple miles down the road to the Grapevine Mills Mall.  We enjoyed an awesome lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.

After lunch we ventured over to check out Legoland.

We watched two 4D movies and the girls did a great job keeping their glasses on.  It was almost as entertaining to watch them watch the movie as it was to watch the movie!

They even had a pink princess lego castle with a little karaoke machine.  They didn't have Frozen on it yet, so both girls improvised and sang it anyway!

They even had a little ride that the girls wanted to ride...shocker!  They really liked it!

We had a great time on our adventure out of the Great Wolf Lodge!

Great Wolf Lodge Park

When we got to the hotel, we spent the evening at the waterpark and then the following two mornings as well.  We were afraid it would be crowded but to our surprise the crowds were bad.  Carli still wouldn't do any slides with us and Ava wanted to so badly but she wasn't tall enough...yet!

Look at my little girl among the big boys!  She loved to do the lilly pads and went from crawling one to another to making jumps!

Carli LOVED the wave pool and lazy river.  She spent a lot of time in both!

The girls thoroughly enjoyed their time at the waterpark and each day we would have to drag them out to feed them.  Now, if we could just get them on the slides, they would really have a blast!!

The only slide Carli would do was in the toddler section and it was a pretty good slide...and not very high at all according to her!

One of my favorite two pictures of the whole trip...pure joy!!

Great Wolf Lodge

When we went to the Great Wolf Lodge last year with friends, we vowed we would go back and bring the grandparents with us some day.  It happened that we got a good deal and on short notice Naggy & Pappy were able to meet us earlier this month for a couple days of fun!  The girls were so excited to get to hang out with Naggy & Pappy and show them around their favorite hotel!

We were really lucky, we went the wkd of another ice storm hitting the metroplex and East Texas.  We happen to get to the hotel right as the worst of it hit and pretty much stayed put til we came home.  Thus we did not have to deal with any of the cold and played in the water instead!

When we checked in we were told we had $100 credit to spend anywhere in the hotel.  Too bad they didn't apply it to our hotel bill!  So we let the girls splurge a little and buy a new shirt and get some colored hair.

We even managed to make it to story time one night.

We had a lot of fun just hanging out in our hotel room too.  Ms. Patty let us borrow her Pretty, Pretty Princess game and the girls LOVED playing it with everyone.  I promised not to post pics of Aunt Megan, Pappy and Naggy wearing all their fine jewels, but the girls happily struck a pose.

We made a lot of memories, and I'll post a couple more post on the waterpark and our one outing to the Grapevine Mills mall to follow.  It was a great mini vacation!

Celebrating Chuy's Birthday

Carli got it in her head that we missed celebrating Chuy's birthday in February.  She wanted to plan a party, buy him a gift and celebrate!  She even insisted on calling Pa that morning and asking if he would be coming to the birthday party!  We let Pa off the hook on that one and compromised by letting her take the dogs on a walk, give them a small bite of cookie and only threaten to give Chuy a bath and let him be stinky for a day longer.  :)

Happy Birthday Pa!

Today is my Dad's birthday.  And I am so lucky and blessed to get to spend so much time with him.  I get to work with him everyday.  I get to seek guidance from him spiritually.  I get to eat lunch with him at least once a week.  Best of all, I get to see him love on my kids.

He is an awesome Daddy and he is an amazing Pa.  Just last week he endured two long days of travel in order to help me get the girls to Amarillo so that I could go on a business trip with him.  He used his miles to get the girls to and from Amarillo and then he traveled for 12 + hrs on three separate flights to get to our final destination instead of simply taking one flight and getting there in 3 hours.

He gives all he has in all he does.  We are blessed beyond measure to call him ours.  Happy Birthday Daddy/Pa!  We love you to the moon and back!!

Patience is a Virtue...

A couple of weeks ago we were getting ready to go spend a few days in DFW with Naggy & Pappy.  I decided to make some cookies for the trip.  I LOVE cookies but have resisted making them for a good two months.  Apparently Ava has missed having cookies in the house.  She went and got her a chair, politely asked me if I could pls turn on the oven light and watched the cookies bake.  I think she got her sweet tooth honestly.  :)
