Good Picture!

Last night, Tim and Tori were finally able to come meet Carli for the first time. During the visit, Tori was able to snap this really good picture, so we want to make sure we shared it. You can't tell, but she is sporting her Dallas Cowboys onesie...who, by the way, are 1-0 in the Carli era...although somewhat by luck, but that's another topic. Anyway, here is the pic! KH

Going Home

Hey all! Many thanks for all your thoughts and prayers! They are so much appreciated - especially yesterday. We are all doing well thus far. Carli is simply just precious. She looks so much like Keith to me - but we found some baby pictures of me - and we think she might have my forehead and complextion. I'm sure she will change tons in the months to come though.

We do get to go home today. We had the option to stay the night tonite - but they are doing construction on the hospital and it isn't very calming. They would actually keep Carli for the night and I would be considered a "courtesy" stay - so all my nice nursing help would not be here...so with Pappy and Naggy at our house - we are pretty sure we would rather just go home. So as soon as Carli is done with her tests - and passes them. And I get her fed - and happy again, we are going to pack up and go home. We are looking forward to introducing our puppy dogs to our Carli - we will record this one, it should be interesting! :)

Thanks again everyone for all your prayers - we know we are very blessed to have had you all thinking of us! Pls continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers - life just got interesting!

Finally a post with no words, only pictures...

She's Here!!

Carli arrived at 1:23 this afternoon, or somewhere close to that. She's 8 lbs 4 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Everyone is doing great, at least as well as could be expected. We're making it through the first feeding, then she's off to a nap or a bath, whichever comes first...

I would post pictures, but didn't bring the connector to the computer, so you'll have to deal with it. ha. Thanks for all your prayers! Resa is doing good, but really sore!

Time Flies when you're in labor

Well things are progressing quite well. She just went through about an hour of the epideral not working, which really sucked, but she pulled through like a champ. The got some other kind of medicine in there that is helping some, but not the goofy good that we used to have. But, on an extremely bright note, the nurse checked and she is completely dilated, so we're trying to get the baby to drop a little more on her own before we start the pushing. She doesn't have the urge to push yet, so we're doing good, just letting it come naturally. But from the sound of things, we aren't far off at all!! The doctor is due in to see us in about 25 minutes. Hopefully then we'll have a better idea of when the fun really starts. Resa is doing awesome though, and so is the baby!

6 AM Dr's Visit

It's now 6 AM, still no baby. The doctor just came by to check on her. She's still at about a 4 1/2, so not much has changed. But they've hooked her up with the inducing drug, which should speed things up. He also broke her water, which might speed things up, I'm not sure. But anyway, things are progressing, but we're still waiting.

The epideral just ran out, so they are getting her more. She sure does like her "epi".

October 1 it is...

Well, midnight has come and gone, and still no baby. Resa got an epideral around 10:00 and has been feeling much better since then. We've had some pretty big contractions, but she's slept all the way through it. The nurse says once she has the urge to push, she'll come in and check her again to if she is further dilated. They were making bets as to whether she would come before 3 am or not. We're kind of thinking not, but we'll just wait and see. So far, everything is going great, especially with the epideral. We're just really thankful that labor began when it did and we didn't need any special drugs or a c-section.

BTW...she just called you all jerks for not commenting...but she just realized it's the middle of the night, so that makes it ok. Have I mentioned she likes the epideral?
