If you know me, you know I don't like big get togethers (unless it involves family and a lot of food). So the thought of doing a party was really not what I wanted to do. I had hoped to do a family day birthday type thing with Carli but it turns out somehow she got clued into the whole party bit. So despite this Momma's grand plans of a Chickfila breakfast and a trip to the zoo followed by a family dinner, it was party day at our house on Oct 1st. And I survived. :)
To start off Carli's birthday morning we took her to the donut store and let her actually go in and pick out what she wanted...you'll never guess. She picked a strawberry donut. Apparently her love for Strawberry Shortcake goes way beyond the television...
She has her little nose pressed against the glass making sure that the lady gets the strawberry one just for her!
She couldn't wait until we got home to eat it!
After breakfast, it was time to decorate our cupcakes - they were strawberry.
Ava had to test them out for us.
All in all the morning of preparing for the party went very smoothly, and I was relieved! Next post - party pictures!!
