Saturday was our third Once a Month Cooking (OAMC 1 & OAMC 2). Sarah and I have done two others in the past and were long overdue for another time around, for the big day Ms. Patty and Kara joined in the fun. We planned in advanced and were able to order our chicken from Zaycon at $1.89 per lb. We used 80 lbs of chicken! Sarah had ground beef for us to use so that saved us a lot of money as well. Not everyone took home every single meal, but for those of us who got all the meals, it averaged to about $126 total.
We tried to get our ground beef recipes done during the week since they were not "dump" recipes. And Friday night, Ms. Patty, my Mom and Holli came over and we knocked out all the breakfast recipes. Mom and Holli took home some of those freezer meals as a thanks for their help!
We started about 9 am and were done a little before 2. It rained all day, but that did not keep Kayla and all 5 kiddos she was watching from playing in the rain and mud and having an absolute blast! Kayla definitely made the day so much easier by keeping the kids occupied!
