Trick or Treating on the Square

Honestly, Halloween isn't a holiday we really get into but we kind of sort of participate.  In years past we have gone to Trunk-R-Treat and Fall Festivals at ETCA.  But this year we didn't do either and were left to try to figure out if we wanted to attempt real Trick or Treating around a neighborhood or if we could figure out a way to convince the girls it wasn't worth it.

Uncle Tone came to our rescue when he told us about Trick or Treating on the Square in Rusk.  It started at 4 pm and lasted until the candy was all gone and it was perfect for us.  The girls think they like to Trick or Treat until they realize they are expected to go up to complete strangers and ask for candy...totally out of their comfort zone!

The girls would just hold out their bags for candy and barely make eye contact...but it got the job done.  And half way around the square, Carli declared she was done.  :)

Ava was Sophia the First and Carli was Ariel.

They came home with quite the loot of candy - and we ended up throwing half of it away b/c it wasn't stuff anyone would eat.  All in all though, I'd say Trick or Treating on the Square was the way to go!  :)
